Streamlined for Every Freedive

What should I look for in a freediving mask?

Choosing the right freediving mask comes down to internal volume, fit, and lens design. Low-volume masks like the Cressi Nano minimize the air you need to equalize, letting you dive deeper with less effort and less resistance on the way back up. Frameless designs like the Rombo bond silicone directly to the lens for a wider, unobstructed view, while dual-window options like the Calibro add anti-fog protection for longer sessions. A soft silicone skirt that seals against your face without excess pressure matters just as much as the numbers on a spec sheet.

  1. Nano

LOWEST-VOLUME MASK WITH DUAL FRAME TECHNOLOGY

The Nano's dual-frame design delivers the lowest internal volume in Cressi's freediving lineup, built for advanced freedivers and spearfishing.

  2. Pacifico

AFFORDABLE, RETRO-STYLE MASK WITH A WIDE VIEW

The Pacifico brings back Cressi's classic '50s-style design in a wide-view, single-lens mask built to fit most faces.

  3. Rombo

FRAMELESS, ULTRA-LOW-VOLUME MASK FOR PANORAMIC VISION

The Rombo bonds silicone directly to a single tempered-glass lens, an ultra-low-volume, frameless design for freediving, snorkeling, and spearfishing.

  4. Atom

FRAMELESS MASK DESIGNED FOR EXPERT FREEDIVERS

The Atom's ergonomic nose pocket eases equalization, an ultra-low-volume, frameless mask built for demanding freedivers and spearfishers.

  5. Metis

TWO-WINDOW MASK BUILT FOR SPEARFISHING AND SNORKELING

The Metis's soft nose pocket allows equalization even with gloves, a two-window mask built for spearfishing, scuba, and snorkeling.

  6. Calibro

    DUAL-LENS MASK WITH A FOG-STOP SYSTEM

The Calibro's Fog-Stop system tackles fogging at the source, an ultra-low-volume, dual-lens mask built for scuba, freediving, and spearfishing.

  • How do mask fit and comfort impact freediving?

Fit is the single biggest factor in freediving mask comfort, more than skirt color or price. Press the mask lightly to your face without the strap and inhale gently through your nose; if it stays on with no straps at all, the skirt seals correctly. Over-tightening the strap to compensate for a poor seal pinches the skirt out of shape and causes headaches or leaks on longer dives. A soft, double-feathered silicone skirt, like the Rombo's or Atom's, adapts more easily to different face shapes.

  • How do mask volumes vary across freediving models?

Internal volume is the amount of air trapped between your face and the lens, and it varies a lot even within Cressi's own freediving lineup. The Nano and Atom sit at the lowest end, built for advanced freedivers who want to equalize with as little effort as possible. The Rombo and Calibro also run ultra-low-volume, with a frameless build and a Fog-Stop system, respectively. The Pacifico is the outlier, a retro-style, standard-volume mask built more for comfort and viewing than minimal air space.
