Cressi Award-Winning Gear

Cressi Award-Winning Gear

Since 1992, the equipment-testing team known as ScubaLab has been putting scuba gear through objective testing and in-water evaluation, then publishing those results in detailed reviews in Scuba Diving magazine. Standout products earn recognition such as Testers Choice and Best Buy based on test-diver scoring and performance across a range of categories.

Cressi is proud that its products have earned that recognition for many years. Here are some of the latest award-winning pieces of Cressi gear, along with highlights from the ScubaLab reviews, that help explain why they stood out.

2025

Rombo Mask

2025 ScubaLab Best Buy, Dual-Lens Masks

The Rombo mask impressed test divers with a simple, practical design that delivered strong all-around performance. Its frameless construction gives it enough rigidity for everyday dives, but it can also fold in half for easy stowage, which adds versatility for travel or backup-mask duty. The large lenses sit close to the eyes for a very good field of view, and its low-volume profile helps keep clearing easy and efficient.

ScubaLab reviewers noted that the Rombo performed well across the board and was a favorite of multiple divers. That balance of packability, visibility, and solid in-water performance helped earn it Best Buy recognition in its category.

Raffaelo Dive Computer

2025 ScubaLab Best Buy, Non-Air-Integrated Computers

The Raffaello dive computer stood out for doing exactly what many divers want a wrist computer to do: present essential information clearly, simply, and without unnecessary complication. Its large rectangular display gives core data room to breathe, with extra-large depth and no-decompression-limit readouts and a segmented layout that makes the most important numbers easy to read at a glance.

Test divers also praised its visibility, above and below the water, along with its straightforward two-button operation and low-profile comfort. For divers looking for a computer that focuses on clarity, reliability, and the features they actually need, the Raffaello delivered the kind of practical performance that made it a Best Buy.

2024

Aquawing Max BCD

2024 ScubaLab Testers Choice, Back Plate/Wing BCs

The Aquawing Max BCD gave test divers a lot to like in a compact package. Its donut-shaped bladder, lightweight aluminum plate, and padded harness created a streamlined system that felt stable and balanced in the water. ScubaLab reviewers also praised the Modular Adjustment System, which made it easy to fine-tune the fit, along with the quick-adjust, quick-disconnect crotch strap that simplified donning and doffing.

Test divers found the rig comfortable, secure, and easy to control, with minimal bulk and a natural swimming position. That combination of adjustability, comfort, and in-water performance helped earn the Aquawing Max ScubaLab’s Testers Choice recognition in its category.

Fast 5mm Wetsuit

2024 ScubaLab Best Buy, 5 mm Wetsuits Under $500

The Fast 5 mm wetsuit earned praise for the things that matter most in a temperate-water wetsuit: warmth, comfort, and an effective seal. ScubaLab testers found that its tight, body-hugging fit all but eliminated water movement inside the suit, while the flexible double-lined neoprene still delivered a very good range of motion with no obvious restrictions.

A big part of that performance came from the wrist and ankle seals, which use a stretchy liquid-seal band inside each cuff to help minimize water entry. The result was a suit that testers found impressively warm and comfortable for the price, earning it Best Buy recognition among 5 mm wetsuits under $500.

2023

Atom Mask

2023 ScubaLab Best Buy, Dual-Lens Masks

The Atom mask takes a minimalist approach, but its design is anything but basic. Instead of relying on a traditional external frame, it uses a rigid core co-molded directly to the lenses. That construction creates an ultra-low internal volume, which earned top marks from test divers for ease of clearing and equalizing. The lenses sit close to the eyes, giving divers a field of view that feels wide and open in both horizontal and vertical directions.

ScubaLab testers also gave the Atom strong marks for comfort, dryness, and ease of adjustment, with skirt-mounted buckles and a streamlined fit adding to its appeal. The combination of low-volume efficiency, clear visibility, and diver comfort made the Atom a favorite among reviewers and a Best Buy in its category.

Recognition matters in diving because it usually points back to something more important than the award itself. Gear earns attention when it performs well and divers actually feel the difference: in fit, comfort, readability, warmth, visibility, and ease of use.

These Cressi products were recognized in different categories, but the through line is the same. Each one reflects a design approach centered on practical performance in the water.

That is what makes these awards meaningful to us. They are not just badges. They are outside recognition of the same qualities we work to build into every product from the start: thoughtful design, dependable function, and gear that helps divers feel more comfortable and more confident every time they enter the water.
